Hi all!

Firstly, I had a working Ati 8.12.10 + Gentoo-Sources-2.6.11-r5 + Xorg-x11 6.8.2-r1 w Direct Rendering

One fine day, I decided to try Xorg-x11 6.8.99.3 + 2.6.12-rc2-love1

After emerging both of them, they can't work on my system. Xorg was going real slow on the "ati" driver (not the FGLRX) one. So I decided to unmerge both of them and reemerge my former setup. Upoon remerging my former setup, I got the SAME problem as before. I think that there are some Xorg 6.8.99.3 lying somewhere.

My problem is as below:

After everything boots...
Kdm_greet starts real slow
Starting and Closing applications are really really REALLY slow. ( eg 1 min+ to startup Firefox )
After I start up my application, I can use (almost). There seems to be a slight lag in rendering the graphics.

Anyone has any idea on how to solved it? I believe that its because of the 6.8.99.3 sources lying somewhere as when I unmerge the old and remerge the new, it says something like it detected a former/previous installation of Xorg.

I did try remerging with minimal use flags like pentium4 and O2, but it seems like its not working either.

Many thanks in advance!

Edit: Edit topic to solved

I've got the same problem. I emerged 6.8.99.3 the other day and it loads gnome, fluxbox and openbox sooooo slow. Gnome-panel never fully loads, my apps take forever to start. So i emerged 6.8.2 and nvidia-glx and nvidia-kernel to no avail, it still loads just as slow. So considering everything about our systems' video configurations look different it should be this new xorg ebuild.

this pretty much fixed it for me
