|

i finally got my webcam working now, but whenever i try to use it, it kicks itself and my usb mouse after viewing the cam about 10 seconds. it simply doesnt show anything anymore and my usb mouse isnt usable too.
dmesg tells me something about unknown usb messages or something and then at the end "exit webcam: didnt work" (or something like this).
i got an aiptek pencam with 16mbits and run the kernel 2.4.20 (vanilla+xfs) with the module stv680 from the kernel sources.
does anyone have this prob too or can give me a tipp on how to solve this?
i think its the early beta driver, but... well... it has to work somehow, since there are people using it
edit: i also cannot reinit my usb mouse (dont know why, simply tried to replug it or rmmod->insmod the usb things again), so i have to reboot each time... |

Hi,
got the same problem using the 2.4.20-gentoo-r5 kernel,
both webcam and usbmouse hangs after about 30 secs.
Tried to unload the modules and unplug the usbdevices,
but didn't help.
I'll try using the 2.5.69-development kernel, also try
without the usbmouse connected, see if it helps.
Please reply if you, or anyone else, has got it working. |

Same exact problem here. Only errror messages I have with dmesg are about default resolution not set. The cam hangs after a few seconds everytime. |
