hi, if i ssh to my home box, i get slugish echo on my typing (response is great), if i turn on local echo, the echo is great but everything i type appears twice.
what is the best way to gel nice echo and avoid duplication? _________________ I am Beta, don't expect correct behaviour from me.

I guess the only way to do this would to enable local echo and disable remote echo... although I have no idea how this would be done (why would any UNIX programmer want the terminal, a supposed extremely-thin-client, to do its own echoing?). Even if it can, unless someone can come up with a magical allmighty solution, it'll have to be done for each application manually. (Of course, it can be done by changing each application's source code) _________________ Tactless
