Compiling kernel problem

Hi all

I am having problems Installing Gentoo

I started from stage3
and when i try to compile kernel 2.6.11r6 my laptop shutdown
Using genkernel I have the same problem

I have a toshiba a75

Someone knows what is the cause of this?

Looks like it goes to sleep if there is no user activity for a while. Try hammering the keyboard every 5 to 10 minutes.

mmm, are the fans working properly? It may be that it shuts down because it's running too hot when compiling.

for how long did it compile?
My kernel compiles in 8 minutes on amd duron ~1300mhz

Well, It seems like my fans are not working at the gentoo installation
there is any way to see the status of my fans and turn on in gentoo install?
