First, try another jabber client to make sure gaim is really the problem.
Next, in the accounts section of gaim make sure you have all the fields filled out correctly.
Screen name should be just your screen name. So if you are foo@jabber.bar.com screenname should just be foo.
For server make sure it is the whole server. In my fake example, jabber.bar.com
Resource can be anything you want, just make sure it isn't the same as an already connected resource. If you don't know about priorities and resources there is some good jabber documentation on that, it's cool.
I don't know what your network or server is like, but you might need to fiddle with the advanced options to make it work if you use SSL or a proxy.
If all that doesn't work check your gaim error logs and come back here. |

I am using v3.5 and the regular one is working fine, but I do not know about gaim, all the onter IM's I use work fine (on Gaim) except for jabber.
I do not have internet at home, thats the problem, I do not know what the internet cafe I go to uses. _________________ |

The internet cafe might be blocking the traffic. |
