Well i did those updates above. Updated to the new profile as explained on the small guide on this site, updated the kernel as it is suposed to be done, and updated kde by emerging it an all dependencies, then unmerged every kde 3.3 package manually. It worked quite well except for some little details:

- My computer clock loses configuration. I set the time at the bios setup, then i boot into gentoo and it shows the time fine. I switch to windows xp and also shows the correct time, but when i boot again into gentoo the clock shows a small delay of about ten minutes, which gets worse every time i boot.

-When i logout from kde it sends me to the console login instead of showing kdm (of course i logged in from kdm previously).

-I added framebuffer support using vesa driver and installed a splash theme following the guide on gentoo wiki and it worked partially. At the middle of the boot proccess it loads the graphic box with the console inside, but there is no start up image with progress bar. Instead of that i get the penguin in the top left corner of the screen.

I hope anyone can give me a clue on any of these, specially on the clock thing which is the most serious one.
