Hello.
I emerge -uD world everyday.
This day the following packages were emerged:

sys-libs/glibc-2.3.5
gnome-base/gail-1.8.3
sys-devel/gdb-6.3-r1

On the next reboot, X wouldn't start. Not even the NVIDIA logo could be displayed.
I tried a revdep-rebuild (it re-emerged gnutls and evolution-webcal), and the nvidia logo started to display, but all fuzzy-looking, and no X yet.
So I tried to re-emerge nvidia-kernel. It gave a weird error about not finding .config in /usr/src/linux. So, I recompiled the kernel, and managed to reemerge nvidia-kernel, to no avail.
I don't know what happened and what do these packages had to do with the X failing.
I remember I had to run revdep-rebuild after emerging glibc.
I looked into Xorg.0.log, but nothing worty is mentioned about any error.

Can anyone help, please?

Well, I found out that this ir related to the glibc 2.3.5 breaking the nvidia-glx.
I solved it by using the nvidia installer on nvidia drivers.

Thanks for reading
