hi

i'm using gentoo 1.4rc4 with 2.4.20 kernel (gentoo-sources), everything works fine but the command

hdparm -d1 /dev/hda

creates the following message

/dev/hda:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
using_dma = 0 (off)

my motherboard is a a7a266 with ALiMaGiK1 chipset...
what's wrong?? forgot i something to build into my kernel??

i also use a mandrake 9.0 system (orig. 2.4.19 kernel), but there DMA works fine...

thanks for your help

br
