I just bought a Lexmark z615, but now I see that CUPS won't detect the thing 
Hal-device-manager sees it fine, cups does not. So I guess this is a driver problem.
Does anyone have a suggestion how I get the thing going?

Have you got the cups driver yet? What have you actually done to get to this stage? It's hard to help without knowing that...

I need to quote myself here? I thought I already said Cups was no success 
I also tried the driver on lexmark.com, but that buggy thing wouldn't even start to install.
So, any more suggestions? |

You did say CUPS didn't work... but that could be caused by any of a thousand things, and you didn't narrow it down. Besides, the driver from lexmark.com is the cups driver.
Have you seen this howto? It says it's for a Lexmark z25, but someone further down the thread said it worked for a z602, so I'd assume it's essentially the same for a z615 as well.

I followed the wiki exactly but when I try to print a testpage, error log says PID stopped with status 127
anyone else get this problem........lexmark z615 btw |
