Hello

I have a problem to choose the right audio device for recording (mic) in gnomemeeting. There is just /dev/sound/dsp in the configuration window. Im not able to choose a second device. But i wanna choose the integrated mic of my logitech webcam. "modprobe pwc" and "modprobe audio" (the usbaudio modul) works perfect.

Code:

Jan 31 17:35:41 irmeli kernel: pwc Logitech QuickCam 3000 Pro USB webcam detecte
d.
Jan 31 17:35:41 irmeli kernel: pwc Registered as /dev/video0.

and

Code:

Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usb.c: registered new driver audio
Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usbaudio: device 6 audiocontrol interface 1 has 1
input and 0 output AudioStreaming interfaces
Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usbaudio: valid input sample rate 44100
Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usbaudio: device 6 interface 2 altsetting 1: form

Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usbaudio: valid input sample rate 22050

Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usbaudio: registered dsp 14,3
Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usbaudio: warning: found 1 of 0 logical channels.
Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usbaudio: assuming the channel found is the maste

Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: usbaudio: registered mixer 14,16
Jan 31 17:37:17 irmeli kernel: audio.c: v1.0.0:USB Audio Class driver

any ideas how to solve the problem?

thank you

Hi himpierre,

I just went through something very similar. I wanted a second sound card to be available for GM (not a usb, though). The fix is probably the same.

See this link for the fix I used. It should work, as long as the modules are loaded in the right order - ie your sound card first, then the usb sound module.

Let us know how it goes.

BTW, which driver do you use for the pro 3000? I have a cheapo quickcam, using the qce-ga driver, that, ah, isn't great quality. The 3000 looks good, but I don't want to bother if I have to use the same driver.
