|

Hi,
I need to re-emerge my installed kde packages but I don't know the correct command to run : I tried 'emerge -p --update kde' but it adds packages I don't need.
So my question is : how do I know which kde packages are installed and how do I re-emerge only these ones ?
Thanks
PS : I've read emerge man pages but didn't find out. |

There are two way I can think of...
First, you could do an:
emerge -e kde
which will install all of the packages you have installed that are in conjunction with kde. Or
emerge -ep world | grep kde
to see what kde packages you have installed and in what order you should reinstall them...
Hope this helps.

Thanks ! Exactly what I needed
If I reinstall these packages, will it reinstall the needed dependencies also ? |

Yes. If you do...
it will install the dependencies. It will take a while, so get a good book.
