After I get to the point where I chroot, I lose my ability to connect to the internet. I moved the resolv.conf to where it belongs, so that's not it. I checked through the forums and didn't see this problem. Any ideas? |

Can you post the command you used, and the actual error message ? |

For any command I use, it give me a resolve error. From links, to emerge. |

I think you had the same problem as I had. Network works, but links is not available in the chroot environment.
did you try an Code: | USE="-X11" emerge links |

you mean a shared library resolve error ? or DNS resolve error ?
you need to supply more details and exact copy of errormessages etc. |

cp /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/gentoo/etc/resolv.conf before chrooting _________________ Gentoo 2005.0/2.6.11-dev/XFCE-4.2 |

Actually, it was none of those problems. I just restarted the installation and got it to work anyway, though. |

It was probably the lack of a /etc/resolv.conf file in your chrooted environment. |

I agree with that. I did a new 2005.0 install on my desktop and laptop. The desktop worked without a hitch, but the laptop required the coping of the resolv.conf over to the new system before the chroot. |
