The topic already says it, I wanna know what is a good kernel-patchset choice for servers? And what schedulers should I use then? What's a good choice for Reiser FS?
Thanks so long,

Why not just use gentoo-sources or hardened-dev-sources (if you're using Gentoo/Hardened)? _________________ ~~ Peter: Programmer, Mathematician, STEM & Free Software Advocate, Enlightened Agent, Transhumanist, Fedora contributor

Sorry, I've never tried them out and would like to hear some comments, for example ![Wink ;)](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ e17 documentation | Be free and use Jabber as your IM! | Combine IRC and IM |

Isn't there a vividserv kernel patchset?
Yup here:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-323185.html
But I think that gentoo-sources would be perfectly adequate for a server. What are you going to use it for anyway (i.e. SSH, Apache, Firewall?)
Also reiserfs is included in the vanilla kernel anyway. Unless you mean Reiser4 which is not. _________________ rubyforums | blog | boxwhore |
