I recently did an

Code:

emerge -Davu world

and my local news server started acting up. I could not post to any of the groups. Reason was some kind of code page incompatibility. The server would return an error message

437 Unwanted news group

The news name looked jumbled. I tried many things. In the end I did an

Code:

emerge -Davu inn

which fixed the problem. A library must have gotten updated/changed that inn relied on.
