I recently finished installing gentoo on my system. However the first boot after getting gnome loaded and everything configured properly, I get an error when loading the kernel of : EDBA too big. The system locks up after this. Any ideas on what could be causing the error and how this happened? |

i was able to correct the problem by re-running Lilo
give it a shot, i pretty much trashed my Gentoo install figuring it out, and ended up having to reinstall.
once i reran lilo it would boot, but all the other monkeying around i had done was too much work to fix.
Good luck, hope it helps |

Dunno if this is relevant, but if you update your kernel, you _will_ need to rerun lilo, and it needs to pick up the new settings. I think this is what Quake_Sinatra's problem may have been too, and it seemed to fix it for him (the boot part anyway).
However unless you've changed your kernel, I don't see why this error should appear. Any thoughts? _________________ --
