UPgraded gnome to 2.10 on a machine and the menus are all goofed, There are programs for KDE, gnome 1.4 theme selector (Yeah what the hell) and other random junk. How do I reset the menus to more of a stock look? _________________ Are you intolerant of intolerant people? Tired of being PC yet? |

I think the real question is:
How do we blow away the current menu template in gnome and then which package do I want to reemerge to recreate it?

Ideally, Gnome and KDE should not share _any_ g*/k* apps with eachother, in my opinion anyway. A unified menu editor would be pretty neat where you could copy app links from one to the other though. I envision a dialog with a menu tree on each side and users could draq menu options from one to the other. Or, the system would keep a master copy of menu items for all common WMs/DEs and allow the user to copy in links from that. KDE for instance, includes everything from gnomes menus which is a real pain. Suddenly there are 4 text editors and three sound controls.
I would write a Java app, but that probably would not go over very well

<aol>Me too!</aol>
I am having the same problem: extra "Application" and "Applications" submenus in the Apps menu, and a bunch of applications in the Desktop menu. |
