Oh, there is firehol and gtk-iptables. And firestarter, of course, which seems to be most sophisticated. That's only the output of a 30 second view into the portage tree...
Edit: I forgot to mention kmyfirewall. Although, this one's for KDE, obviously... _________________ There's no such priest //

I would also recommend fwbuilder which can be found in portage and at www.fwbuilder.org |

I am leaning toward guarddog after seeing screens of the 3 programs from their websites.
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: Darn, it's a KDE one. Will it work with KDElibs installed like with k3b? |

Most of what you need should be there. Can't hurt to "emerge -pv guarddog" to see what USE flags and dependencies it lists. I'm running Fluxbox only and "emerge -pv guarddog" only returns one dependency (lol, IPTables), although I've got Qtorrent and K3b on here (that's about all the K* I use).
But to answer your question, yes. It should work with no problems. |

Haha yeah I keep a lot of TODO files around. That would make a good OTW topic... |

I'm 2/3 the way done and I don't think any of the remaining packages are very large. |

emerge -eav world finished last thursday and I emerged guarddog and it opened fine and everything but when I tried to apply rules, I get something like "No table/chain..." and my connection stops working.
I allowed all local traffic and regulated the internet traffic. But I can't connect through any ports to anything. |
