Why do all the 2.6 kernels show up as hard masked in gentoo-sources in the "Online Package Database"? They are not masked in portage. |

packages.gentoo.org runs a 2.4 profile and as such 2.6 kernels are not "visible" to it.
its a feature, not a bug, althought it would be nice if packages.gentoo.org would explain why they are masked _________________ http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd |

Thanks. I guess that explains it.
Isn't it about time that it moves to 2.6? It sure seems like a bug to me if it does not match portage. |

I had wondered about that. It's neat that the package database server displays it's own portage tree parsed into XML, and it makes sense when you think about it. _________________ "That question was less stupid; though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way."
