1. i don't want to use metacity but the clearlooks theme engine
2. gdeslets-starterbar is the only way to have that kind of bar? bluecurve has its own bar of that kind, not? |

Bluecurve is a theme.
How could it deliver a software to launch apps?
If you don't use Metacity then you can't use the Clearlooks Deco 'cause it is for Metacity.
If you're looking for a Dock like app-launcher there are a few ways:
gDesklets
aDesklets
Engage
And maybe more I can't think of right now.
Maybe you should make yourself a bit more clear and tell us what exactly you want. |

Clearlooks is also a GTK engine/set of GTK themes, perhaps that's what he means. What WM/DE do you run? You could emerge gtk-chtheme and use that to set your GTK theme to Clearlooks. _________________ Nitrogen - GtkMM based background setter/restorer, please test!

i solved the problem with clearlooks
but i still can't understand if the desklet "starterbar" is the only way to improve gnome panel with a macos like bar |

Looks like this ebuild will be coming soon to a portage tree near you. _________________ Never try to explain computers to a layman. It's easier to explain sex to a virgin.
