That's a lot of RAM!
It happens every time email is pulled IF there is email. All the mail is pulled and the remote box is cleared. The new messages are not redisplayed before a dialog box comes up asking if I want to restart, close or report a bug.
I'm going to retreat to v2.0.3 and see if the problem is new in v.2.0.3, which I believe to be the case. If it's not there, the bug might be in glib. That seems a lot less likely to me.
FYI!

Not sure where this huge number is coming from. Haven't retreated to 2.0.3 yet.

The more I work with this, the more it appears to be a mail message with something in it that confuses the parser into thinking one of the messages is just huge. Is there a mail database checker anywhere?? _________________ --

The errors only happen when new email arrives. I can send with no problem at all. The program seems to be actually working alirght. Have seen this on Solaris a number of years ago too. There was a mail message with a bunch of data that confused the parser and made it think there was a really big mail message in the file.
Any ideas about a mailbox checker for this mailbox format? _________________ --

OK - the problem is somewhere in the audio code. I change the option to play a sound when new mail arrives to not notify, and it doesn't crash anymore. That's the workaround. Now the question is what's blowing up?! _________________ --
