Hello, I'm having a problem with 2 of my machines with the same problem. When trying to run games that I have installed via Point2Play in the past, that require a cd, they come up tellin me that the cd isn't in. I have put in the cd's and then mounted em, and still nothing, tried using the features with Point2Play where you don't need to mount it. When running the CDRom tests, it comes up with "Available, But No Copy Protection", I am running 2005.0 on both machines, and as far as I can tell, it's a problem with the fact that maybe because I didn't reinstall the apps after going to 2005.0. I'm still searching for a solution, but wondering if anyone can just flat out tell me that this is the problem. _________________ - Hogosha -

What does the entry for your cdrom look like in your /etc/fstab
All the games that require the cd with point2play have worked fine for me by just mounting the drive.
Mine looks like this:
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /dvdrw iso9660 noauto,ro,user 0 0 _________________ Desktop PC: AthlonXP 2700+, 1024meg DDR400, 9600xt 256meg, 8.26.18 ati drivers, nForce2, 2.6.16-gentoo-r7

I read through the HOWTO and made the following changes:
.transgaming/config:
[Drive F]
"Path" = "/mnt/cdrom"
"Device" = "/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd"
"Type" = "cdrom"
"Label" = "cd"
[Drive H]
"Path" = "/mnt/cdrom1"
"Device" = "/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target1/lun0/cd"
"Type" = "cdrom"
"Label" = "cd1"
HOWTO mentions the final device needs read permissions for all so I set:
brw-r--r-- 1 judd cdrom 22, 0 Dec 31 1969 /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd
And then added:
-winver win2k
to the command line.
Things seem to be working. |
