I have the xdm init.d service start at boot(default) but when it does it pops up with a blank black screen. I'm running the nvidia driver.
Now if i login as root and run xdm, kdm, or gdm they start perfectly fine when i run them via the cli so I'm not sure what the problem is and startx works perfectly fine also. Yeah my /etc/rc.conf if set right and I've tried xdm, kdm, and gdm for DISPLAYMANAGER all three do the same thing. Any helpful idea would be nice...
The problem relatesto how init.d starts it or something is my guess since as I said they start perfectly fine if I run them by hand. This is bloody annoying. |
