Hi,
I'm doing a stage1 install. I didn't had any problems during stage1, but now on stage2, during the emerge -e system, it hangs with openssl with the following error:

You need Perl 5.

I tried to remove ssl from my USE variable but it did not work either.

What version of perl do you currently have installed? Try "emerge perl" before "emerge -e system" |

As I doing stage2, I don't think I have perl installed yeat.
What I don't understand is that if Perl is really needed at stage2 ? And if it's needed, shouldn't portage install it automatically?
