|
|
Hi,
I'd like to add quota support to my reiser file system. I looked a bit around, but found a lot of bits and pieces. Can anyone confirm/complete these:
- Quota is only supported from ReiserFS4
- It is availible as a patch for Reiserfs3.*
- ReiserFS4 is included from WHAT kernel on?
Now, I have a kernel 2.4.26 and reiserfs 3.6; to get quota support I guess I'll need to patch the kernel? Or is it already done automaticaly in gentoo-sources?
What pacht should I apply? I only found until 2.4.23; I guess it'll work on 2.4.26 too... |

I'm not sure, but I think some 2.6 patched kernels have an option for "Reiser3 extended attributes", but only in 2.6. Same for Reiser4, but Gentoo devs aren't touching that with a 10 foot pole. So if you want a Reiser4 kernel, you'll have to search around for one. (Hint: CKO and Nitro are both good) _________________ jabber: MighMoS@jabber.org

You probably already know the answer, but here goes a brief list just to complete this thread.
I found wish supported quotas by searching for quota on man mount:
I'm certain there are others. Feel free to search the web if you haven't already. _________________ SETI@Home - http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ |

I'm running quota on Reiserfs 3.6, on a vanilla 2.6 kernel with no patches. |

You should be able to use Reiser3.6 with a quota. Do not use Reiser4...you will have 0 gentoo support and Reiser4 is a terribly broken filesystem. |
