Can't Play UT Online!

Ive just got UTGOTY (451) working and now I can't get online (I emerged the client, if I download it manually it doesnt work). I heard it's because of a security bug, is there anywhere I can get a patch for it?

Hmm, Ive just seen a other thread. It seems that it's impossible to play 451 with networking. I can't get 436 running though (It appears to be a bug.)

Do NOT play the original UT online. There's a remote security exploit. And there's no patch because the game is long dead. Atari is currently developing UT2006, and will never revisit the original to fix the bug.

I play the windows version of UTGOTY under cedega and it works just fine.

I got ut-GOTY edition to work just fine under linux, all I did was unmask the package and plop the cds in when it asked for them. It was really cool to have a lan party with 12 people and ut-GOTY.

Yes, but thats a LAN, nothing to do with playing online with strangers.
