|
|
My laptop will go into standby, but when it comes out the touchpad no longer works, and I have to reboot. If I "rmmod psmouse" before going into standby, I can then "modprobe psmouse" after coming out of standby and it continues to work. To automate this I have tried adding the following lines to hibernate.conf:
UnloadModules psmouse
LoadModules psmouse
When this did not work, I tried adding the same lines to ram.conf as well, but still no dice. I have only swsusp1, however the procedure described above worked without using swsusp (I first tried it with swsusp enabled, and then played around with the power management settings in my kernel). How can I automate this process so I don't need to use the terminal when going into standby? Thanks in advance. |

Update . . .
I am now using swsusp2, and am still experiencing same trouble. I enabled all the options as described in the swsusp2 wiki how-to. Why isn't my hibernate.conf file working? Please help!
On a related matter, I have noticed that when I go into standby, the power and link lights on my internet card remain on. Even when I manually stop it using /etc/init.d/net.wlan0 stop, the lights remain on. Why is this? When I enter standby using Ubuntu and Windows, the lights go off as one would expect. |

Please try 2.6.12-rc4, it should have proper resume support. _________________ Dmitry |

I think I may have just forgot to load the APM module (at least that's the trick in Ubuntu). Anyhoo, I've had to switch back to Ubuntu b/c Gentoo ate up my 4GB drive, which only had xfce, firefox, and openoffice installed. Using Ubuntu I can have the same plus Gnome installed with 2GB left. I do like Gentoo though, and it's a great way to learn about linux. But it will have to wait until I have the drive space. |
