Quote: | Doesn't it seem strange that the LATEST ebuilds for kde are marked stable? Isn't normally these the development/testing versions? kde-3.4.0 is supposed to be marked stable before 3.4.1, or are the 3.4.0-ebuilds skipped? |
Remember that 3.4.1 is a bugfix release for 3.4.0, so it is likely that 3.4.1 fixed problems that came up in the testing of 3.4.0, which kept that release from making stable |

Are these all the packages I need?
kde-meta kdebase-meta kdemultimedia-meta kdeutils-meta
kdeaccessibility-meta kdebindings-meta kdenetwork-meta kdewebdev-meta
kdeaddons-meta kdeedu-meta kdepim-meta
kdeadmin-meta kdegames-meta kdesdk-meta
kdeartwork-meta kdegraphics-meta kdetoys-meta
Once the upgrade is done, can I emerge -C all the kde 3.3 stuff? |
emerge kde-meta should be enough to have everything.
Yes the emerge -C should be enough. |

All of you migrating to the split ebuilds, this official gentoo howto has been around for quite a while now, so do have a look:
