Ok, after a huge break, I am finally able to have a dedicated Linux box since I bought a new workstation for Windows and graphics and so on. So, after installing with 2005.0 Live CD, everything seems fine...I receive no error messages or failed checks on boot...nothing. The problem is that when I try to emerge something, it just won't go through, as if I didn't have a connection. But when I reboot (during the kill phase), it reads something like, eth0 disconnect or something like that, so it appears to be working, but no data going through. Could it be my router? Not sure.
Any help would be great since I can't do a thing without that connection.
Ricky

Ok, after reinstalling it, it works. Without getting into too much detail, the install process was a bit different, and I ended up with kernel 2.6.11 r3 instead of r8 like last time. Another huge difference is that I emerged dhcpcd. Who knows what it was, but it works now. Thanks though. |
