I have 2 machines (A and B). A is an NFS server with various shares. B has users jailed to /chroot. These users need to access files from A. Is it safe to have an NFS mount within /chroot? Say /chroot/mnt -> A:/path/to/share? Assume that all the NFS server is properly set up and the share is read only and not using no_root_squash.
Thanks |

I would belive it's very safe, personaly anyway. If the user cannot get out of chroot and your permisions are setup properly on the NFS server, I can't see any reason this would be an issue. As far as the user can tell, it's no different then if the tree was on the local machine, except for the fact that it's in /mnt from his POV. _________________ Someone asked me once if I suffered from mental illness.
