I'm using privoxy + tor, because I'm behind a firewall and have access to a few ports only. So far, I've successfully got mozilla worked with socks5 proxy with 127.0.0.1:9050 However, I couldn't get it work with anything else. How can I use it with qtorrent, and other programs such as ksirc, gaim, ...?

(whoops! sorry, I've posted to the wrong forum. can mods move this to Networking & Security plz?)

Your going to need to set up some global proxy settings. KDE has proxy settings in the control center that will be avaliable to all kde applicaitons, you might try that if some apps won't use the global settings. Also bittorrent doesn't work very well if ports 6881 to 6889 are not completely open.
