installing 2005.0 on a ACER C113 (tabletpc) help plz!

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to instal gentoo on the tabletpc in the subject. The problem I'm experiencing is that I'm using an external DL DVD firewire drive to install. I can go as far as selecting the kernel to boot, but after that the system can't find a cd drive (in my case my firewire DVD) to mount and it gives me control to fix things up. I looked around the dirs and with cat found that the hardware is seen by the system, but I have no idea on how to mount it (in the /newroot dir).

Thx in advance to anyone willing to help!

P.S.

If the firewire drive recognition should turn to be to complicated I could also try a network install from a windows machine, but for that one too, I need to be pointed in the right direction!)
