The title says it all, really. Apparently this card is supported, I have the usb card drivers compiled in, but nothing. When I connect the card, I get the following:

Code:
May 14 14:22:33 lemming usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
May 14 14:22:33 lemming usb 2-1: config 1 interface 1 has no altsetting 1
May 14 14:22:33 lemming usb 2-1: config 1 interface 1 has no altsetting 2
May 14 14:22:33 lemming usb 2-1: config 1 interface 2 has no altsetting 1
May 14 14:22:33 lemming usb 2-1: config 1 interface 2 has no altsetting 2
May 14 14:22:34 lemming usbcore: registered new driver snd-usb-audio

lsusb shows:

But when I run alsaconf, it just doesn't see the card. I can't seem to get ALSA so see it.

Is there anything obvious I'm doing wrong?

Have you read and followed the instructions on this page? M-Audio USB Duo is listed as EZ-USB device.

Well, that page is mostly about getting the modules compiled and working, which I have done (not following the instructions on that page, but in the Gentoo Way). That all works, the modules are loaded correctly at boot and the device is detected correctly when I plug it in. The other part of the page is about the firmware loader, but the Duo doesn't need it.

Sorry to be of no help. Although I've got a M-Audio device running in Gentoo, it's not the Duo. As from what I can see in the log, it gets detected as audio device, since the usb-audio driver is loaded for it. I'm using the Alsa kernel drivers, by the way, not the alsa-drivers package provided by Gentoo, because my other sound card wouldn't work with it.

As for other places to ask, you could try the ALSA mailing list.
