I noticed that packets won't show up from computers on the wired network here.. I'm using 802.11b.. is there any way to capture packets from wired connections in my situation?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Unless you're using a hub (rather than a switch) on the wired network, packets are only sent to the computer for which they're destined. This keeps traffic down, improves efficiency - and makes packet sniffing ineffective since you can't sniff what you don't see.

And if you're trying to hack someone else's wired network - haven't you got better things to do with your time? :D

I never have anything better to do.. but the question came to mind while I was trying to see if the user/pass for the router over here was sent over plaintext. The only person that does have access to the router's web-based configuration site is an individual who only uses a wireless connection.. I was just wondering :D
