Hey people.
I've got a little quickcam webcamera, installed and working wonderfully on my gentoo system. At the moment (for novelty value) I use mplayer to see it working. It's registered itself as device /dev/video0
My question is. (as you have probably guessed from the subject). Is there any decent software out there for detecting motion through a camera device and then recording it to disk. A basically want to use the camera as a little security device outside my room.
I'm looking for something I can get through portage. It doesn't have to be GUI driven or anything.
Thanks
