doing a stage1 install, gentoo 2005.0, and i've got to the point where i rc-update nescessary programs. this happens when i, for instance, rc-update syslog-ng;

rc-update add syslog-ng default
* syslog-ng added to runlevel default
/sbin/rc-update: line 186: /sbin/depscan.sh: No such file or directory
* rc-update complete

what does this mean? syslog-ng seems to be added, but this missing-depscan.sh thing, what is that? is it important? should i merge something to make this go away?

help will be much appreciated :)

/sbin/depscan.sh belongs to baselayout, maybe reemerge it, but i'm not sure if that will cause any problems. Baselayout is a fairly important package though, so if you're having problems with files in it then somethings wrong.

Maybe check to see if that file really does exist or not and if it does make sure it's executable and has the correct permissions?

Good Luck!
