Well, this doesn't _really_ need a solution since the machine is destined to become a firewall / router anyway, but for the sake of knowledge..
X.org doesn't compile on this machine, and I was wondering if anybody else got it to compile.
It occurs to me people may care about where it fails so .. I'll ssh home in a bit and get the error message from the screen session.

As mentioned in the bug, using gzip-1.3.5-r5 worked. The problem seems to be with gzip.
