I've been having horrible latency lately on my Yukon Gigabit card. From googling I gathered that such network latency can be caused by something to do with IPv6... ? I've disabled IPv6 in the kernel, yet anything network related, even 'route' takes forever to come up. I'd really appreciate any advice. (I'm running an mm kernel) |

I have the same card and Im not experiencing the latency you mention (I'm running in 100 mbits though since thats how fast my router is), I have "-ipv6" in my USE flags though, so none of the networking apps are built with ipv6 (not just the kernel).
btw, which driver are you using? AFAIK the old sk98lin one is deprecated and is replaced by the new skge one so if you are using the old one try with the skge one and give it a shot, also, try adding "-ipv6" to your USE flags and run
emerge --newuse world
good luck. |
