2 - 3 seconds after the bootprocess has started while the kernel is being unpacked and initialized my monitor suddenly switches to standby while the harddisk keeps on booting. (probably until bootprompt). Then I press alt+ctrl+del and the pc reboots after a small shutdownperiod so the problem must lie with the graphics settings I guess. Is there anything one must consider (menuconfig) before compiling the kernel? I have a MSI NVIDIA GForce 4 TI. |

Maybe is a framebuffer issue? have you appended any VGA= in your bootloader configuration? |

oh i forgot make sure u edit /etc/X11/XF86Config
and replace `nv` with `nvidia` (u dont need to do that if u use 4.2.99.x) |
