Inside X the display looks a bit fuzzy and also every few inches horiztally there is a stip of white that runs through the image. The stip is not easy to see but if you look carefully enough you can see it. The monitor is a Dell E171 flat panel display. Here is my xorg.conf.

I am guessing there is somthing wrong with my monitor settings, is there a place wehre I can get the defined refresh rates?

LostGen,
If you comment out these lines
Code: | HorizSync 31.0 - 80.0
VertRefresh 56.0 - 75.0 | the display and graphics card will autonegiotiate whats best (or try to). Look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see whats happening. The autonegiotion is called EDID, so any line that mention EDID are intersting in that respect. _________________ Regards,
