hey -- i just recently installed kde 3.3 and was wondering how to do a couple of things
1 - when i emerged xine and kwirelessmonitor they didn't show up under apps on the taskbar.. what can i do to put them there?
2 - how can i get things like kmix and kwirelessmonitor to run on login?
3 - are there any file browsing alternatives? -- i like nautilus, is there anything like that for kde?
-- and -- it would be gravy if somebody could let me in on the secret of how to get a wireless card to automaticly detect / connect to the clsest network -- doing su root and setting it up by hand every time gets a bit tedious
thanks in advance

1/ You should have something along the lines of 'menu updater' under system I think (been a while since I used kde), try that
2/ run them & don't close them, should restore them when you log back in
3/ umm, well nothing stopping you using nautilus if you want... There are plenty of file managers out there if you want something else - xffm for example (although I hate it )
Sorry, no idea about wireless. |

K-menu -> Settings -> Menu Updating tool -> Scan

Restore session will take care of that

Konqueror is the std - or perhaps I've misunderstood? |

yeah, konqueror is the default, but you can use pretty much anything you want, there are plenty out there. |
