If I have xcompmgr running and try to start a program in wine, x gets a signal11. What's really weird is that the installer will run fine with xcompmgr, but once wine runs the executable my xsession dies. I'm thinking I might be able to get wine running by tweaking the [x11drv] section of ~/.wine/config, but so far I haven't been successful. Does anyone have any hints or suggestions? |

my experience is that xcompmgr doesn't work with 3D drivers. If you are trying to run 3D games through wine, it will probably not work with xcompmgr. What I did was create to xorg.conf files, xorg.conf.transparent and xorg.conf.games and simply exited my x session copied the one I wanted and started up again. Worked fine. Are these executables 3D games? |

You can also make multiple serverlayouts in one xorg.conf file and the startup X with one the correct layout. Code: | startx -- -layout wine |
