Hi everybody,
I have a weird issue with samba. First of all, both my server and client run gentoo. I am trying to mount my server's share on my client via fstab. I can mount them, but here is the thing...
From my client, when i use smbclient, i can connect to my shares, and everything works perfectly. Access rights are also perfect. When i use smbmount, or when i mount those share via fstab, i can't browse any folder.
Here is an example of what i am talking about:
gate_hdb1 mounted:

Here you can see chris:users on gate_hdb1 as requested by fstab

Look the groups here (410, 411), chris:users is gone... How come it is changed for 410 and 411?????????????

OK... The groups 410 and 411 are on my server side.
Here is the related line in the fstab file:

I tried to remove all options, and only leave credentials=, but no success...
How come i can browse my folders with smbclient, and when i mount the same share, i can't browse anything?

You might give a try to | Code: | | unix extensions = no |
in the server's smb.conf. According to this bugreport... Maybe I'm wrong, but you didn't specify the version of samba... |

Thanks, i am going to try it in a few seconds... The installed version of samba is 3.0.10.
