Hi!
I have successfully installed Gentoo, but there is one thing: I do not want to install GRUB into the MBR. I want to install GRUB on a floppy and then boot Gentoo from that floppy. Please, can anyone tell me how to do that during the Gentoo installation? (When I am at the point where I am finished with the installation and ready to install the Boot-Loader GRUB)
Thanks,

Hi again!
I have fixed it!
I did everything like in the gentoo handbook,
then, when it came to the point where to install the boot
loader, I insterted a floppy and did:
# mke2fs /dev/fd0
# mount -t ext2 /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
# grub-install fd0
..and it works!
When I insert the floppy I can choose between
Linux and Windows, and choosing Linux boots Gentoo.
When I do not insert the floppy, WindowsXP boots
just like there is no Gentoo installed. |
