|

Hey all,
I'm using Mplayer to watch movies, and I noticed that my audio is delayed from the movement of lips... only be miliseconds, but its noticible. What can I do to reduce the delay?
Thanks!
George

Are you sure you're using ALSA directly (-ao alsa)? I have the delay problem too, but only when using a sound daemon like KDE's. I guess it's because these daemons are buffering audio somewhere.
For a quick workaround, mplayer allows you to adjust audio delay on the fly, in steps of 100ms. I'm not sure about the exact key combination, but I think it was one of the numpad keys, + or - probably. It should print a message like "audio delay adjust: 100ms". |

Yes. I haven't seen a decent mplayer GUI around yet... |
