O.K. so I reboot than I will make one more user...
So what is the best way to arange my Gentoo after finishing instalation of it...
I just dont understand manual script good enought,so I am asksing You...
Is this order O.K
frst
emerge --sync
than I would like to install KDE and/or GNOME
emerge xorg-x11
env-update
source /etc/profile
AND I FOLLOW THE X Server Configuration HOWTO....??
When finished with it I can go...
emerge kdebase kdenetwork kdeadmin kdemultimedia
AND FOLLOW THE KDE CONF. HOWTO
Than maybe some oder packages like
emerge gnu
emerge gnumeric
emerge mozilla
AFTER I should do what....???
should I update the sistem....
emerge --update world
MY QUESTION IS
is this order of installation of packages and uder things O.K for new user in gentoo,so I can go in graphical mode(KDE,GNOME) and start searching the web for more Documents about config. Gentoo OS....
PLEASE FOR REPLY.....I am coming to the end of installation of Gentoo...

The order in which you merge things is not important.
You can actually start by emerging kde (this will install X if it's not there yet).
Do read the docs, there's one specically designed for setting up a nice desktop environment. |

There is no package named "gnu"
Try mozilla-firefox instead of mozilla ...
Try openoffice-bin instead of gnumeric (oocalc is a more common standard) |
