hi folks !

i am new to gentoo. i installed gentoo with a stage 3 file without problems.
now i want to try a stage 1 or 2 one.
following problem:
gentoo recognizes my network card ifconfig eth0 brings good results !
adsl-setup is also runnning ! ( i am able to start with "adsl-start" and get connected result after 2 or 3 seconds !)

when i try to ping a internet side then by giving following command "ping -c 3 www.yahoo.com"
i receive after a long time an error (something about unknown host or so..... )strange !

after connecting with command adsl-start and checking with adsl-status i see nothing strange.......
my i-net provider sends me a dynamic ip and DNS (DHCP or ?) in xp i leve the ip and DNS setting to auto

i have a D-Link DFW528TX 10/100 express fast ethernet pci card(on the back of the network card case i see thet linux 2.2/2.4 is supported...)

oh i forgot: i am able to ping to i.e. 10.0.0.138 or 10.0.0.1 or 127.0.0.1 but not to www. side ?!?!!
any ideas ?
