The wireless network card that I currently have seems to be completely unsupported when it comes to Linux. So I was considering getting a new one. This time I'd like to make sure it is supported. Do gentoo install-cd-kernels easily support any wireless network cards? What brand/chipset/whatever would you people recommend I buy? I need a regular PCI wifi card, preferably with RPSMA antenna connector. |

I run my machine as a wireless router so I can use the internet on my laptop and pda around the house without any problems.
Hope this helps,

Have you had any success using ndiswrapper? I've got a bunch of obscure cards (one is on the Realtek 8180 chipset, and one is on the TI TNET1130 chipset). I don't know if they are supported by normal means in Linux, and frankly I don't care, because it's pretty damn easy to install ndiswrapper and get them running that way. |
