Hi,
I've got a problem with a laptop. It uses an ATI M4 Mobility Chip. I already installed Xorg, and I can start X, but whenever I do, it will look like this:

I already tried different drivers (ati and r128), and different refresh rates (those supplied by X -config - which didn't work properly, those I use on my Desktop system on my 15" TFT monitor), but none of them worked.
I'm quite desperate and looking forward to any help you can provide.
Thank you very much

Using "vesa" as driver 'solves' the problem. I'm not totally convinced that that's the way it's meant to be played (tm), but I'm happy as long as it works. Maybe the Devs should add this hint to the ATI FAQ. |
