|
|
I am using alsa and a 2.6.11 kernel, and I am having trouble with the front mic jack on my audigy. I can use the rear microphone (directly in the card), but the front is silent. In alsamixer, I only see one microphone level and I have it set on capture. Anyone have any ideas? |

Is there a missing chip on the card? Or could a jumper have fallen off? |

Good question. I guess I can do the easiest thing and boot into windoze and check the hardware. |

On the ALSA website, you should find the Wiki for this card. There, you will find some weird strings.
Basically, SBLive/Audigy is very complicated, has about 30-40 diferent mixer elements. So, after installing, all LiveDrive, digital CD, etc. is disabled, so you do not have mixer elements for them.
On that page, you will find some module options you need to pass to the snd-emu10k1 (or any other) module to activate different kind of hardware pieces on the card.
