Firefox seems to be missing the "java plug-in" despite being installed with the JAVA use flag.

I'm going crazy now after the 4 re-emerge. Help please!

Thanks.

You still installed the JRE or JDK package from either blackdown or Sun right?

Urgh... this one bloody pissed me off.

It seems the emerge did not create a required symlink in mozilla's plugin directory. This solved the problem:

Code:
# ln -s /opt/blackdown-jre-1.4.2.01/plugin/i386/mozilla/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Yeah, I noticed that as well, blackdown didnt make the symlink on mine either, while Sun JRE did.

Ought this be a bugreport to the ebuild maintainers of Blackdown? If so, I'll send it in.

Probly, the ebuild should tell you about that when it finishs, incase of a problem like that.

It worked for me, tho ive had my share of java troubles.. Mostly trying to get sun or ibms to install, and finding out neither work in 64-bit for firefox.
